The project “Social Agencies for Future Europe” (SAFE) is being implemented by a consortium of 13 social security institutions from 10 member states, among which is the National Social Security Institute (NSSI). The lead partner is the Italian Insurance Institute – INPS. It is funded by the European Commission under the agreement SAFE 30-CE-0595730/00-51, signed on September 23rd, 2013. The time limits for the project are from 2014 to 2017.
The main activities of the project are:
- Testing of current versions of structured electronic documents (SED) in a suitable environment and the already developed relevant tools, description and dissemination of results.
- Preparation of the work of the contact points, connecting the institutional systems of the partners, with the common European system, provision of collaboration with the EESSI systems.
- Provision of advice on the business and technical processes and issues in the electronic exchange of trans-national interest.
The expected results of the activities for NSSI are:
- Analyses and conclusions of the tests for the introduction of the common European system for electronic exchange of social security information/data (EESSI).
- Providing means for the exchange of data between Member participants.
- Improving the administrative capacity for the implementation of the requirements of the European Commition in the field of electronic exchange and the new standard identifiers and nomenclature.
- Usage and dissemination of good practices and working software solutions.
- Integration of the results with the European system EESSI.
